Game Overview
Operation Thunderbolt is that classic Amiga sequel to Operation Wolf where you’re basically a one-man army against terrorists who’ve hijacked a plane. This time, you’ve got backup—your buddy tags along, which is nice because the bad guys are everywhere: hiding hostages across Africa, throwing grenades, and popping out of jeeps like it’s going out of style.
You start off blasting through soldiers, tanks, and choppers, but then it switches things up—sometimes you’re in a jeep, other times you’re on foot, and yeah, ammo’s tight. You’ll be desperately shooting at random crates falling from the sky just to restock, and occasionally… well, let’s just say pets don’t fare well in this game. The bulletproof vests help, but good luck not accidentally nuking hostages when you fire off a rocket bomb.
The last mission’s brutal—some lady in a blue dress keeps standing up at the worst possible moment, and if you’re not careful, you’ll blow her to bits along with half the plane. Mess up too much, and you’ll get the bad ending where, surprise, you probably shouldn’t have shot the pilot. It’s chaotic, janky in that old-school way, and weirdly satisfying when you finally clear a level without killing half the civilians.
