Download Operation Thunderbolt_Disk2 ROM – Amiga Game
1988 Amiga action game. 8 missions with varied combat against soldiers, choppers, tanks. Switch between on-foot and vehicle gameplay. Collect ammo and gear from airdrops. Two possible endings based on hostage rescue and decisions.
Game Overview
Operation Thunderbolt is that classic Amiga sequel to Operation Wolf where you and a buddy blast through eight missions to rescue hostages from terrorists. The setup’s cheesy in the best way—somehow a hijacked Paris-to-Boston flight ends up in Africa, and of course, they call in the same guy from the first game (now with a friend, because why not?).
You’ll spend most of your time mowing down soldiers, dodging grenades, and accidentally shooting hostages if you get too trigger-happy with rockets. The missions switch things up—one minute you’re in a jeep spraying bullets, the next you’re on foot or steering a boat. Ammo’s tight, so you’ll be desperately shooting at random crates falling from the sky (or, weirdly, cats and dogs) for supplies. Sometimes you luck out and grab a bulletproof vest or a better gun, but half the time you’re just trying not to blow up the wrong person.
The last mission’s brutal—there’s this woman in a blue dress who keeps standing up at the worst possible moments, and if you’re not careful, you’ll rocket her into next week. Mess up too much, and you’ll get the bad ending where, surprise, not everyone makes it home. It’s janky, chaotic, and exactly what you’d expect from an ‘80s arcade-style shooter.
