Game Overview

Operation Thunderbolt on SNES is basically what happens when you take Operation Wolf and crank everything up to 11. This time, terrorists hijack a plane and stash hostages all over Kalubya (because of course they do), and it’s up to you—and a buddy—to shoot your way through eight chaotic missions.

One minute you’re blasting enemies from a jeep, the next you’re dodging grenades on foot. Ammo’s tight, but you can grab more from crates falling from the sky—or, weirdly, by shooting stray cats and dogs (which feels harsh, but hey, war is hell). The crates sometimes drop bulletproof vests or better weapons, though good luck keeping track of everything when bullets are flying everywhere.

Your health bar drains fast if you’re not careful, and rocket bombs are a double-edged sword—they wipe out enemies in one shot but might take a hostage or two with them. The final mission on the plane is brutal because this lady in a blue dress keeps standing up at the worst possible moments. Mess up too much, and you’ll get the bad ending where, surprise, you probably shouldn’t have shot the pilot.

It’s messy, loud, and occasionally unfair, but that’s part of the charm. Just try not to feel too guilty about the hostages.
