Play Othello (Europe) Online
You move tiles to trap the AI, then it flips half your pieces—that pause before it ruins you is brutal. Simple controls, no saves, pure frustration when you lose.

Othello for the Game Boy came out in 1990, developed by HAL Laboratory. It was one of the many portable adaptations of board games that filled the system's library, offering a straightforward digital version of the classic strategy game. You could play against the computer or a friend with a link cable, making it a solid choice for quick sessions.
You control the placement of black or white discs on an 8x8 grid, aiming to end the game with more of your color on the board than your opponent's. The core mechanic involves sandwiching your opponent's pieces between two of your own; when you do, all the enclosed pieces flip to your color. The AI can be punishing, often seizing on any weak move you make. Games move quickly, but a single mistake can swing the entire match. It feels tense and calculated, especially when you're trying to anticipate the computer's next move.
