Play Othello (1982) Online
You drop tiles to flip your opponent’s pieces, thinking you’ve got the upper hand—then the AI flips half the board on you and suddenly you’re scrambling to recover. Those late-game turns get brutal when one wrong move hands the win away.

Othello was released in 1982 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a time when strategy games were finding their footing on personal computers. It was a straightforward digital adaptation of the classic board game Reversi, offering a clean, no-frills experience that ran on the hardware of the era. You weren't getting flashy graphics or a complex story, just the core game presented in a functional way.
You control the black or white discs, taking turns with the computer opponent to place your pieces on the 8x8 grid. The main objective is to finish the game with more of your color on the board than your opponent's. The signature mechanics are the flipping of your opponent's discs by trapping them between your new piece and an existing one of your color, and the crucial need to secure stable positions on the corners and edges which cannot be flipped back. The pacing is methodical, and the difficulty ramps up significantly as the board fills and every placement carries immense consequences. It feels like a constant mental tug-of-war where a moment of overconfidence can undo twenty minutes of careful planning.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
