Game Overview

Overlord on the Amiga is one of those weird, ambitious strategy games that feels like it’s trying to do way too much—and somehow pulls it off. You play as a dark lord (obviously) commanding armies of monsters, but it’s not just about throwing goblins at castles. There’s this weirdly deep resource system, and half the time you’re just trying to figure out if you should raid a village or wait for your mana to recharge.

The graphics are chunky but charming, with these little pixelated imps and knights clashing in surprisingly detailed battles. And the music? Pure late-80s synth, the kind that gets stuck in your head even when you’re not playing. It’s janky in places—good luck figuring out some of the menus at first—but there’s something weirdly satisfying about finally getting your undead horde to actually listen to your commands.

If you’re into old-school strategy with a side of dark fantasy nonsense, this one’s worth digging up.
