Play P.O.W. - Prisoners of War (US version 1) Online
Punch your way out of a POW camp with bare fists and whatever weapons you can grab—chunky arcade combat where getting cornered means a quick, brutal end. That SNK crunch in every hit.

P.O.W. - Prisoners of War came out in 1988, and it's one of those arcade brawlers you can play through MAME today. SNK published it, and it fits right in with the era's straightforward, action-focused side-scrollers. You're not getting a complex story here; it's about breaking out and breaking heads.
You control a captured soldier who must fight through waves of enemy troops to escape. Your main goal is to reach the end of each stage, defeating a boss to move forward. You start with basic punches and kicks, but you can pick up knives, guns, and even a machine gun dropped by enemies. The pacing is relentless, with enemies swarming from both sides, and the difficulty is unforgiving if you get surrounded. It feels raw and immediate, like every mistake costs you.
