Game Overview
Panzer Battles is one of those classic Amiga war games where you're moving little hex-based units across a battlefield, trying to outmaneuver the enemy. It runs on the same engine as Battlefront, so if you've played that, you'll recognize the feel—though this one throws you into bigger WWII clashes with Soviets, Germans, Brits, and Americans.
At first, it's a bit overwhelming seeing all those tank and infantry markers, but the scenarios do a decent job easing you in. You’ll get briefings based on real battles, then it’s up to you to push through forests, hold bridges, or whatever the objective demands. Mess up, and you’ll watch your flanks get shredded by artillery.
What’s cool is the scenario editor—once you’ve had enough of the included battles, you can cook up your own disasters. Just don’t blame me when your carefully planned blitzkrieg turns into a retreat.
