Game Overview
Panzer Battles is one of those classic Amiga war games where you’re moving little hex-based units across a battlefield, trying not to get your tanks blown up by a lucky artillery strike. It runs on the same engine as Battlefront, so if you’ve played that, you’ll recognize the feel—just with more scenarios covering Soviets, Germans, Brits, and Americans.
You start by picking a side and diving into a historically inspired battle, shuffling infantry, armor, and support units around like a stressed-out general. The scenarios actually follow real WWII engagements, which is cool if you’re into that kind of detail. And when you’re done with the included battles, there’s a scenario editor to cook up your own disasters (or brilliant strategies, if you’re better at this than I am).
It’s the kind of game where one wrong move can leave your entire flank exposed, but pulling off a perfect pincer move feels ridiculously satisfying.
