Game Overview
Pico's Quest is this weird little Flash throwback that feels like someone mashed up King's Quest with a fever dream. You type commands like it's 1985—"look rock," "talk to the weird guy by the tree," that sort of thing. At first I kept forgetting to hold CTRL to see my inventory, which got me stuck staring at a locked door for way too long.
The movement's janky (hit an arrow key to start walking, same key to stop), but there's something charming about how stubbornly old-school it is. Found myself actually scribbling notes when I couldn't remember where that hidden cave was. Pro tip: mash the +/- keys if the walking speed drives you nuts.
It's the kind of game where you'll type "eat sandwich" just to see if it works, then realize three screens later you needed that sandwich to bribe a troll. Play it with the sound on—the chiptune music somehow makes the frustration feel nostalgic.
