Pin-Bot on the NES came out in 1990, developed by Rare. It was a home port of a popular arcade pinball machine, arriving during a time when translating those big, flashy cabinets to the living room was a real technical challenge. You got a lot of these conversions back then, some better than others.

You control the flippers, of course, trying to keep the ball in play as long as possible. The main goal is just to score points, but you do that by hitting specific ramps and targets to light up special features and eventually unlock the multiball. The playfield is split across two screens you scroll between, and you have to hit certain sequences to activate the robot's eyes and mouth. It's a fast, unforgiving game where a bad bounce can end your ball instantly. It feels like a constant, frantic battle against the machine's own clever design.
