You control Pinocchio with his springy wooden jumps, twist-kicking Stromboli's thugs and dodging donkey curses—right up to that unsettling whale belly level. The movement’s a little slidey, but nailing a perfect jump off a puppet string feels great.
You play as Pinocchio in this classic Sega Genesis platformer, bouncing around like a wooden puppet with surprisingly decent jump physics. The levels follow the movie pretty closely—you’ll dodge Stromboli’s goons, escape Pleasure Island (those donkey transformations still creep me out), and even end up inside Monstro the whale at one point. The twist-kick attack feels oddly satisfying, though some of the platforming can get a little slippery.
It’s definitely a product of its time—standard Disney platformer stuff, but with that weird charm early ‘90s licensed games had. If you grew up with the movie, there’s something weirdly fun about seeing Geppetto’s workshop or the puppet theater rendered in 16-bit. Just don’t expect anything groundbreaking.
