Plump Pop came out in 1992 as an arcade game from Namco. It was part of that early 90s wave of quirky, colorful titles that didn't take themselves too seriously. You'd see it tucked in a corner next to more intense fighters or racers, offering something a little lighter, a little sillier.
You control a cheerful pig, hopping from trampoline to trampoline to pop clusters of balloons. The goal is to clear each screen by bursting every balloon while avoiding enemies and hazards. The pigs bounce with a surprising weight; you have to judge each jump carefully as balloons drift or enemies patrol. Some balloons fight back or move in tricky patterns, which keeps you on your toes. It feels silly and physical, like a playground game turned into a test of timing.
