Prehistorik came out on the Amiga in 1991, developed by Titus and published by Interplay. It was one of those side-scrolling platformers that felt right at home on the system, offering a colorful, cartoonish world that stood out from the more serious sci-fi and fantasy titles of the era.

You control a caveman on a mission to gather food for his tribe. The goal is simple: move from left to right across each level, clobbering dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures with your club to collect meat, while also smashing open crates and rocks to find fruit, giant joints of meat, and occasional power-ups like an invincibility burger. The pacing is brisk, with a constant push to keep moving and avoid enemies, and the difficulty comes from the platforming itself and the various creatures that patrol the stages. It feels like a straightforward, energetic hunt where your success is measured by how full your food meter is by the end.
