Play Push-Over (Beta) Online
Guide your ant to push dominoes, creating chain reactions to clear each level in this quirky puzzle game for the SNES.
Push-Over came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992, developed by Red Rat Software. It was one of those quirky puzzle games that felt right at home on the SNES, a system that had plenty of straightforward action titles but also welcomed more unusual, thoughtful experiences. The game didn't make a huge splash, but it found its audience among players who liked to stop and think their way through a challenge.
You control an ant in a security guard uniform, moving screen by screen to set up chain reactions with dominoes. The main goal is to topple every domino on the level by starting a cascade from a single push. Key mechanics include positioning your ant to nudge the first domino just right, using switches to change domino paths or open new routes, and sometimes dealing with dominoes that only fall in specific directions or require precise timing. The pacing is deliberate, almost meditative at first, but the difficulty ramps up steadily as layouts become more complex and obstacles are introduced. It feels satisfying to watch a well-planned sequence unfold, domino by domino, until the whole screen clears.
