You swap colorful tiles to clear rows before they pile up, but later puzzles force you to actually think ahead—that "easy" start tricks you before slamming the difficulty brakes.
Puzzle De Pon! R is basically the same addictive tile-matching madness as the original, just with a fresh batch of brain-bending puzzles. Same bright, poppy graphics, same satisfying "clink" when you clear a row—but now the later levels actually make you stop and rethink your strategy. I breezed through the first few thinking "oh, this is just a reskin," then hit a wall around puzzle 15 where I had to start planning three moves ahead.
If you loved the original, it's more of what you like, just meaner. If you're new to it, imagine a mix of Tetris and mahjong where you're frantically swapping tiles to make horizontal lines before the stack reaches the top. The new puzzles feel like they were designed by someone who studied exactly how players cheesed the first game's solutions.
Still no multiplayer though, which is a shame—this would kill in versus mode.
