Qix Flash is one of those simple-but-maddening arcade classics where you’re basically fencing off chunks of the screen with lines. The goal? Claim 75% of the playfield before the little neon jerks (called Sparx) mess up your plans. Hold 'X' to draw slow, careful lines for double points, or mash 'Z' to zip through faster—but risk getting caught mid-line. First time I played, I kept panic-drawing fast lines and immediately regretted it when a Sparx cut me off.
It’s got that perfect “one more try” vibe where you swear you’ll be more patient next round… and then immediately repeat the same mistakes. The screen starts empty, just you and those bouncing enemies, and within seconds you’re either a territorial genius or a disaster. Spacebar launches you straight into the chaos.
