1988 RPG for Amiga. Play as a peasant battling monsters across two continents. Gain experience, stop six Mad Sorcerers, and prevent the Book of Magic's creation. Features dungeons, castles, and tombs.
Questron II on the Amiga feels like slipping back into a familiar pair of worn-in boots—if those boots involved getting ambushed by goblins while scraping together coins for a slightly better sword. You start as some nobody peasant (again), but this time you’re tossed into two continents instead of one, which sounds grand until you realize half the castles just want to rob you blind.
The twist here is time travel—apparently the good wizard Mesron messed up and needs you to stop six lunatic sorcerers from inventing magic itself. So instead of chasing one big bad, you’re running between crypts and weird little villages trying to out-stubborn a bunch of guys who really, really want to write a cursed book. The combat’s as simple as ever—mash buttons, hope your stats are high enough—but there’s something weirdly satisfying about watching your peasant slowly turn into someone who might survive a dungeon without weeping.
It’s janky, it’s grindy, and the Amiga’s chunky pixels make every skeleton look like it’s judging you. But if you liked the first one, this is just more of that, with extra tombs to get lost in.
