Questron II is one of those old-school MS-DOS RPGs where you start with nothing—literally just a broke peasant with a rusty sword—and slowly claw your way up. The first hour is mostly getting wrecked by rats in the wilderness until you scrape together enough gold for slightly better gear. Classic.
This time, there’s a time-travel twist: you’re sent back to stop six power-hungry sorcerers from creating the Book of Magic (which, spoiler, causes problems later). The world’s split between Landor and the Realm of Sorcerers, and both feel huge for a game this old—full of cryptic dungeons and towns where everyone talks like they’ve got secrets. Half the fun is just poking into every corner to see what weird monster or loot you’ll stumble into.
Combat’s simple but satisfying, especially when you finally take down something that crushed you five levels ago. It’s got that grindy, incremental progress vibe where every new sword or spell feels like a big deal. If you’re into retro RPGs with more atmosphere than hand-holding, this one’s a solid time capsule.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
