Ragnagard (or Shin-Oh-Ken, depending on where you played it) is one of those mid-90s arcade fighters that somehow flew under the radar. I remember picking the ninja girl first because, well, ninja girl, only to get wrecked by some dude summoning lightning storms.
What makes it stand out is how over-the-top the special moves are. We're talking screen-filling dragons, tornadoes, and attacks where your character basically turns into a human firework. The pixel art still holds up too, especially the dramatic zoom-ins when someone lands a killing blow. Just don't expect deep mechanics—this is pure, chaotic fun best played with a friend yelling next to you.
