Railroad Tycoon on the Amiga was one of those games that made you feel like a proper industrialist—if industrialists spent hours obsessing over pixelated trains and delivery schedules. You start with a modest rail line, connecting a couple of sleepy towns, but before long, you're juggling cargo routes, upgrading engines, and praying your competitors don’t undercut your coal prices.
The graphics were simple but charming, with little trains chugging across the map and towns slowly growing as your network expanded. The economic side could get brutal—mess up your finances, and suddenly you’re selling off locomotives just to stay afloat. But when everything clicked, watching your empire sprawl across the landscape was weirdly satisfying.
Still holds up if you’re into that mix of strategy and nostalgia.
