Rescue: The Embassy Mission came out on the NES in 1990, developed and published by Kemco. You control a team of specialists, switching between a sniper, infiltration units, and an assault team. The main goal is to neutralize all terrorists and rescue the hostages without getting your own team killed. The gameplay shifts between distinct phases: you start with a sniper scope view to clear exterior guards, then switch to a side-scrolling stealth segment where you avoid searchlights and patrols, and finally rappel down the building to breach windows. The pacing is deliberate, almost methodical; rushing gets you spotted and ends the mission quickly. It feels like a careful, high-stakes puzzle where every shot and every step matters.
