Game Overview
Resident Evil 2 on N64 is still that same terrifying Raccoon City nightmare—just with a few surprises. Yeah, you’ve got zombies bursting through windows and barely enough ammo to survive, but now there’s Dual Shock support (if you’ve got the controller for it). Rookie Mode hands you an arsenal fit for a one-person army, which is great if you just want to blast through the story without sweating bullets.
Weirdly, the N64 version skips the Battle Mode that other versions got—you know, the one where you sprint through the police station backward disarming bombs. But you do unlock tougher difficulties and extra characters if you beat the main game. Honestly, it’s impressive they crammed this whole survival horror experience onto a cartridge. Just don’t expect the same crisp FMVs as the PlayStation original.
