Saint Seiya - Ougon Densetsu Kanketsu Hen [hFFE] is an NES RPG where you control the Bronze Saints in turn-based battles against Gold Saints and other mythic enemies. The combat feels stiff at first—just mashing attack won’t cut it, since each character has unique cosmos abilities that drain energy fast.
Early on, you’re thrown into fights where enemies hit way harder than expected. The difficulty spikes are brutal if you don’t grind, and the menus don’t explain much. But there’s something satisfying about barely scraping through a fight after burning all your special moves.
The sprites are decent for an NES game, with flashy attack animations for moves like Pegasus Ryu Sei Ken. Still, the lack of a proper translation patch means you’ll miss a lot of story unless you understand Japanese.
