I picked up Scooby-Doo! Mystery Mayhem for the Game Boy Advance back in 2004, a THQ release that fit right in with the era's love for licensed platformers. It wasn't trying to be a huge technical showcase; it was just a solid, portable adventure with the gang, which was exactly what I wanted at the time.
You control Shaggy and Scooby, switching between them to solve puzzles and sneak past various movie monsters. The main goal is to explore different themed areas, like a haunted castle or a spooky swamp, to gather clues and foil the villain's plan. You spend a lot of time searching screens for items, using gadgets like the Monster Magnet or the Super Scooper, and engaging in simple combat or stealth sequences to avoid capture. The pacing is fairly relaxed, with a difficulty that's more about observation than reflexes, making it a good fit for younger players or anyone looking for a lighthearted puzzle romp. It feels like you're starring in a slightly interactive episode of the cartoon.
