Senjou no Ookami II, known as Mercs in the West, came out for the Sega Genesis in 1991. It was developed and published by Sega, a sequel that built on the run-and-gun foundation of its predecessor. You control one of three commandos, each with a unique weapon, fighting through enemy territory to rescue a kidnapped president. The game scrolls vertically as you move upward, clearing each screen of soldiers, jeeps, and tanks.
