Shadow of the Beast III wraps up Aarbron’s story—finally human after two games of transformation, but still cursed. Maletoth’s still out there, and this time you’ve got to hunt down four weirdly specific artifacts (like Pendek’s Mace and the Skull of Louq-Garou) across some brutal levels. The Forest of Zeakros looks gorgeous, but good luck figuring out which lever opens the bridge without getting mauled first.
It’s less about mindless slashing and more about poking at chains, hooks, and switches while dodging enemies. The puzzles aren’t cryptic by Amiga standards, but you’ll still get stuck a few times. And yeah, the soundtrack’s still haunting as ever—just don’t expect Maletoth to go down easy.
