Shadow of the Beast III wraps up the trilogy with Aarbron—once a mindless beast, now fully human—finally facing Maletoth to break his curse for good. You’ll hunt down four weirdly specific artifacts (like the Skull of Louq-Garou, because of course) across eerie forests, dark caves, and crumbling forts. The vibe’s still grim, but the puzzles lean harder into figuring out which lever lowers which bridge while some creature lurks just offscreen.
If you played the first two, it’s satisfying to see Aarbron’s transformation come full circle. The controls are less punishing than the original, though you’ll still die a lot figuring out how those chain mechanics work. That Amiga soundtrack? Still haunting. It’s a solid send-off for one of the weirdest, moodiest series of its time.
