Play Shining Soul II (U)(Independent) Online
Pick a class, smash skeletons, and hoard ridiculous hats—this GBA gem nails that Diablo itch with chunky pixel combat and classes that actually feel different. Grab a buddy with a link cable for maximum chaos.

Shining Soul II came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2003, developed by Nextech and published by Sega. It was part of that wave of action RPGs that tried to bring a deeper, more loot-driven experience to a handheld, fitting right in with the platform's library of ambitious, portable adventures.
You choose from one of several character classes, like a warrior or archer, and hack your way through screen after screen of monsters in multi-level dungeons. The main goal is to defeat the forces of darkness by clearing these dungeons, collecting better gear, and leveling up your character. Key mechanics include real time combat where you swing your weapon or cast spells, managing a growing inventory of weapons and armor, and tackling the game's challenges with a friend via link cable. The pacing is brisk, with constant enemy encounters, and the difficulty can be punishing if you rush in unprepared. It feels satisfying to gradually overpower your foes with a new sword or a well-timed special ability.
