Smashing Drive came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed by Point of View and published by Namco. It was part of that early GBA wave where developers were still figuring out how to translate arcade-style chaos to a handheld screen, and this one definitely leaned into pure, uncomplicated destruction.
You control a taxi driver in a city that seems designed for demolition. Your main goal is to pick up passengers and get them to their destination as fast as possible, but the real fun comes from how you do it. You swing a giant wrecking ball attached to your cab to smash through other vehicles, buildings, and any obstacle in your path. The game is fast and fairly difficult, demanding quick reflexes to dodge traffic while also aiming your ball for maximum chaos. It feels like controlled mayhem, a satisfying release of pure, screen-shaking power.
