Snake's Revenge came out for the NES in 1990, developed and published by Konami. It was a time when the console was packed with action games, and this one tried to follow up on the stealth ideas of the original Metal Gear, though it went in a much more straightforward, action-heavy direction.

You control Solid Snake, moving through jungles, military bases, and other environments screen by screen. Your main goal is to stop a new Metal Gear threat, which involves finding keycards, avoiding searchlights and guards, and using weapons like grenades and missiles. The pacing is uneven, with some sections demanding careful sneaking and others throwing waves of enemies at you. It feels clunky and sometimes unfair, but there's a strange charm to its rough edges and oddball boss fights.
