WildSnake came out on the Super Nintendo in 1994, published by Spectrum HoloByte. It was part of that wave of puzzle games that really leaned into bright colors and simple, but demanding, mechanics. You control a snake, dropping it into a grid from above. The goal is to clear colored blocks by making the snake's head touch them, causing chain reactions. The real challenge comes from the grid itself, which constantly shifts and rotates, forcing you to think several moves ahead. You also have to manage the snake's growing length, carefully weaving it through the gaps you create. It feels tense and satisfying when a long chain clears the board just before everything locks up.
