Snow Bros. is one of those arcade-style games that feels simple at first—you play as these little snowmen, Nick and Tom, tossing snowballs at enemies to turn them into, well, bigger snowballs. Then you kick them down the screen to take out other baddies in a satisfying chain reaction. It’s got that same addictive, one-more-try energy as Bubble Bobble, but with its own frosty twist.

The controls are dead simple—just jump and shoot—but some of those later levels get sneaky with enemy patterns and platform layouts. I remember getting stuck on this one stage with these hopping frogs that just wouldn’t stay still. The music’s got that classic early ‘90s charm too, all bouncy and upbeat while you’re trying not to get cornered by a swarm of angry pumpkins or whatever.

If you like your retro games cute but deceptively tough, this one’s a solid pick. Just don’t blame me when you lose an hour to rolling snowballs down stairs.
