Snowbros came out on the Neo Geo in 1990, published by Toaplan. It was one of those arcade-style games that felt right at home on the platform, offering straightforward, competitive fun without a lot of the complexity some other Neo Geo titles were known for.
You control a little snowman, Nick or Tom, and your goal is to clear each screen of enemies by throwing snowballs to freeze them, then kicking the frozen foes to send them sliding. If you hit other enemies with a sliding ice block, it can set off satisfying chain reactions. The game progresses screen by screen, with a boss waiting every few stages. The pacing is quick, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly, especially with another player either helping or getting in the way. It feels cheerful and a little chaotic, especially with a friend alongside.
