Somari is one of those weird NES bootlegs where Sonic somehow got turned into a Mario-style platformer. You still run fast and collect rings, but everything feels heavier—like Sonic's stuck in molasses compared to the Genesis games.
The levels are these strange remixes of Green Hill Zone with Mario-esque bricks and pipes thrown in. Sometimes it works, sometimes you'll hit a jump that just doesn't feel right because the physics are slightly off.
It's janky, but there's something oddly charming about seeing Sonic sprites awkwardly crammed into an NES game. If you're into weird ROM hacks or bootleg curiosities, Somari is worth a look.
