So, Roger Wilco—space janitor and accidental hero—is back, and this time he's dealing with time travel, dystopian futures, and an old enemy who just won’t quit. The game starts with him chilling in a pub (classic Roger) before armed goons show up with a message from Sludge Vohaul. Next thing you know, he’s zapped into the future by a guy with what looks like a giant hair dryer. Now he’s stuck in a grim version of his own world where the Space Quest series has gone downhill without him. Typical.

The graphics got a serious upgrade here—256 colors and an icon-based interface instead of typing commands. You’ll still do all the usual adventure game stuff—poking around, picking up weird objects, and trying not to die in ridiculous ways (because yes, Roger can still perish in about a dozen creative scenarios). The puzzles are a mix of inventory shenanigans and timed sequences, so don’t get too comfortable. Also, smelling and tasting things is an option now, which… honestly, I don’t recommend unless you enjoy pixelated regret.

If you liked the earlier Space Quest games, this one keeps the humor and absurdity but with way prettier visuals. Just don’t expect Roger to suddenly become competent—he’s still a disaster, and that’s why we love him.
