Game Overview

Space Quest IV: Roger Wilco and the Time Rippers came out in 1992 as part of Sierra On-Line's MS-DOS lineup. It was a time when point-and-click adventures were thriving, and this entry took the series in a wild direction with its time travel premise. The game was developed and published by Sierra, known for their detailed worlds and often unforgiving puzzles.

You control Roger Wilco, a hapless janitor who keeps stumbling into cosmic trouble. Your goal is to navigate through different time periods, from the series' past to its distant future, to stop a villain from erasing you from existence. The gameplay involves screen by screen exploration, collecting items, and solving environmental puzzles, all while a sarcastic narrator comments on your every mistake. One signature mechanic is the time jumps, which shift the art style and setting dramatically; another is the inclusion of infamously tricky mini-games, like Ms. Astro Chicken, which can halt progress for ages. The pacing is slow and deliberate, with a high difficulty curve that demands patience and careful thinking. Playing it feels like being part of a clever, self-aware sci-fi comedy where every wrong move leads to a humiliating, yet funny, demise.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
