So, Roger Wilco’s back—this time getting ambushed in a bar by goons working for his old enemy Sludge Vohaul. Classic Roger luck. Just when things look dire, some guy with what looks like a giant hairdryer (don’t ask) blasts him through a time rip, and suddenly he’s stranded in a grim future where Space Quest XII exists and everything’s gone to hell without him.

This was the first Space Quest with Sierra’s slick icon-based controls—no more typing "look at weird thing" and hoping it works. You’ve got buttons for poking, sniffing, even tasting stuff (because of course Roger would). The 256-color graphics were a big deal back then, and they still have that weirdly charming, slightly janky vibe. Expect the usual mix of inventory puzzles, sudden deaths (step wrong and boom, crushed by a spaceship), and jokes that somehow still land.

If you’ve played the others, you know what you’re in for—just with more time travel nonsense and a surprisingly bleak future where Roger’s absence ruined everything. Typical.
