Spanky's Quest is one of those Game Boy gems that makes you go, "Wait, what?" You play as a monkey—Spanky, obviously—who fights sentient fruits and veggies by bouncing sports balls at them. You get the balls by popping floating bubbles, because why not? The whole thing feels like someone threw a Saturday morning cartoon into a blender.
At first, I thought the controls would be janky, but the ball physics are weirdly satisfying once you get the hang of them. And the enemies? Imagine a carrot with a grudge or a tomato that just wants to ruin your day. Each level’s got keys to hunt down, and the layouts get sneakier as you go. It’s short, silly, and honestly kind of brilliant in its absurdity.
