Game Overview
Spanky's Quest is one of those weird, charming SNES games that sticks with you. You play as a monkey (Spanky, obviously) who just wanted a nice picnic, but ends up trapped in a magic tower by some witch who turned his fruit into monsters. Classic bad luck.
The gameplay's simple but oddly satisfying—you bounce this magic ball off Spanky's head to attack enemies, and the more you bounce it, the stronger it gets (baseball, basketball, etc.). The towers are full of keys you gotta collect to unlock doors, but enemies keep snatching them up, so you're constantly juggling between fighting and grabbing keys before they disappear. Oh, and the hats? Random power-ups that might give you a double jump or something equally ridiculous until you lose it.
It's got that early '90s platformer vibe where the mechanics are just strange enough to feel fresh, even if the difficulty spikes can be brutal. The fruit monsters are weirdly cute, too. Definitely one of the quirkier hidden gems on the SNES.
