Play Speedball 2 (Europe) on sega Online
Pick a team of armored brutes and smash your way through cyberpunk rugby—pass, punch, or just hurl rivals into the electric fences while the crowd loses it. The league mode hooks you with upgrades, though maybe don’t blow all your cash on shiny armor like I do.

Speedball 2 came out on the Sega Genesis in 1990, developed by The Bitmap Brothers. It was one of those games that stood out on the platform, a fast and aggressive sports title that didn't try to mimic anything real. It fit right in with the era's taste for loud, immediate action and sci-fi aesthetics.
You control a team of players in a violent future sport that mixes hockey, handball, and street brawling. The main goal is to outscore the opposing team by throwing a metal ball into their goal, but you spend just as much time punching opponents, stealing the ball, and collecting coins that drop on the pitch. Upgrading your team between matches with better armor, speed, or throwing power gives a real sense of progression. The game moves quickly and the difficulty ramps up sharply as you climb the leagues. It feels chaotic and brutal, but always under your control.
