Game Overview

Speedball 2 is this wild futuristic sports mashup where hockey meets pinball with some rugby violence thrown in. You start off managing the absolute worst team imaginable—Brutal Deluxe, who are anything but—and have to drag them from the bottom league to the top through a mix of strategy and button-mashing chaos.

Matches are short, frantic bursts where you’re constantly slamming opponents into walls, scrambling for power-ups, and trying to bank shots through multiplier gates. The real fun comes from the little details: hitting star targets for bonus points (though the other team can steal them), watching the ball get yeeted across the arena through warp gates, or suddenly freezing the entire opposing team mid-tackle. Between matches, you’re scraping together cash to upgrade your sad squad, replacing the original weaklings with actual decent players—just don’t forget who’s who, because the starters hit their skill ceiling fast.

It’s one of those games where you’ll lose half your matches at first, then suddenly everything clicks and you’re pulling off ridiculous comebacks. The MS-DOS version feels a bit janky now, but the core gameplay still holds up if you can handle the old-school controls.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
