Play Speedball 2 (Europe) Online

You’re tossing a metal ball between armored thugs in a cage, dodging electrified walls and throwing elbows—half the fun is seeing how many opponents you can flatten before scoring. The Master System version nails that crunchy, chaotic feel where every button seems to make someone punch harder.

Game Overview

Speedball 2 on the Master System is basically futuristic rugby with more elbows to the face. You control these armored maniacs in a metal cage, slamming into opponents and chucking a heavy ball at glowing goal targets. The first time I played, I spent half the match just trying to figure out which button made my guy punch people (turns out it’s most of them).

It’s way faster and more chaotic than the first Speedball, with better animations and this weirdly satisfying clang when someone gets knocked into the electrified walls. The AI doesn’t mess around either—if you hesitate near the ball, you’re eating dirt. I still can’t decide if I prefer playing dirty and KO’ing the other team or actually trying to score points.

Definitely the version to play if you’re into pixelated violence pretending to be sports.
