Play Sonic Chaos Online
Sonic Chaos nails that pinball-like momentum—you’re bouncing off walls in tiny, colorful zones, barely controlling the chaos. Tails actually flies here, which feels wild for an 8-bit Sonic.

Sonic Chaos came out in 1993 for the Sega Master System, developed and published by Sega. It was one of the later games for the system, arriving as the 16-bit era was already in full swing, but it made good use of the hardware it was on.
You control Sonic or Tails, each with their own abilities; Sonic can use the Spin Dash to build speed from a standstill, while Tails can briefly fly to reach higher areas. The main goal is to collect Chaos Emeralds by finishing special stages, which are accessed through giant rings hidden in the main levels. The game is structured as a series of side-scrolling stages where you run, jump, and spin through loops and obstacles to reach the goal. The pacing is generally fast, though some platforming sections require careful timing. It feels responsive and quick, capturing the sense of speed the series is known for.
