Play Sonic Chaos (Europe) Online
Tiny 8-bit Sonic bouncing through loops and hidden paths, with Tails’ awkward little flutter jumps and Robotnik’s goofy contraptions. The music sticks in your head way longer than you’d expect.
Sonic Chaos came out in 1993 for the Sega Master System, developed by Aspect and published by Sega. It was one of the later Sonic titles on the 8-bit hardware, arriving when the Genesis was already well established, but it still offered a solid portable-style experience for players who hadn't moved on.
You control Sonic or Tails, dashing through vibrant levels to collect Chaos Emeralds before Dr. Robotnik can misuse them. The game introduces the Spin Dash, letting you rev up and burst forward, and Tails can briefly flutter jump, adding some vertical exploration. Levels are compact but filled with alternate routes, hidden alcoves, and bounce pads that keep things lively. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty feels fair, never too punishing. It feels quick and cheerful, a bright little burst of momentum on the small screen.
