Sonic Blast for the Sega Master System came out in 1996, developed and published by Sega. It was a late release for the Master System, especially in Brazil where the console remained popular, and it offered a different take on Sonic's speed-focused gameplay.
You control either Sonic or Knuckles, navigating isometric stages filled with platforms, enemies, and loops. The main goal is to reach the end of each zone while collecting rings and freeing animals from robots. Signature mechanics include screen-by-screen exploration, precise jumping across angled platforms, and bouncing on enemies to defeat them. The game moves at a slower, more deliberate pace than most Sonic titles, and the isometric perspective makes judging jumps tricky. Playing it feels like solving a spatial puzzle as much as racing through a level.
