Sonic Blast Man came out on the Super Nintendo in 1992, published by Taito. You control a superhero in a bulky suit, moving from left to right to punch through waves of enemies, from ordinary thugs to robots and aliens. Its signature mechanics are the super punch, which requires you to charge up by holding the button, and the screen-filling special attacks that you activate after collecting power-up orbs.
