Predator 2 on the Sega Master System came out in 1992, published by Arena Entertainment. It was one of those late-era SMS games that tried to squeeze a movie license into the hardware's limits, with mixed results. You play as Lieutenant Mike Harrigan, navigating a top-down view of a crime-ridden Los Angeles overrun by gangs and something much worse.
You control Harrigan through screen-by-screen exploration, clearing out gang members with a variety of firearms while hunting for the Predator. Your main objective is to survive each area, gather key items, and eventually confront the alien hunter. Signature mechanics include using a motion tracker to detect the Predator's presence and switching between weapons like the pistol, shotgun, and flamethrower to handle different threats. The pacing is tense but often uneven, and the difficulty can spike without much warning. It feels like a rough but earnest attempt to capture the movie's tension in 8-bit form.
