Predator 2 came out in 1990, published by Konami as part of their MS-DOS Classic Games line. It landed right in the middle of the era when PC games were starting to push beyond simple arcade ports, but still carried that raw, low-resolution charm. You played as Lieutenant Mike Harrigan, dropped into a top-down version of a gang war-torn Los Angeles that felt gritty and tense, even with the limited graphics.
You control Harrigan through screen by screen exploration, clearing out human enemies while constantly watching for signs of the Predator. Your main objective is to survive the onslaught and eventually take down the alien hunter. Signature mechanics include using a motion tracker to detect the Predator's invisible approach and managing a limited arsenal of weapons, from pistols to a powerful plasma caster you can claim later. The pacing is relentless; you're always low on ammo, and the Predator can strike from anywhere, making every corner dangerous. It feels like a desperate scramble where a single mistake ends everything.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
