Spider-Man and the X-Men in Arcade's Revenge came out on the Sega Genesis in 1992, developed by Software Creations. The gameplay involves a lot of screen by screen platforming, avoiding instant death traps, and using character specific powers like webbing or optic blasts to defeat enemies. The pacing is slow and deliberate, mostly because the difficulty is notoriously unforgiving; one wrong move often means starting the entire stage over. It feels like a constant, frustrating test of patience, punctuated by moments of genuine satisfaction when you finally nail a tricky jump sequence.
